Jon Millstein and Emily Clarke met at art school in New York. In 1983, soon after graduating, they formed "Design East" focusing their commercial energies around a shopfront on New York's Lower East Side.
This "Regular Coffee" design (referring to what New Yorkers call coffee with milk) went on to break all sales records.
Later still they contributed the design to the REMO launch portfolio in 1988. It went on to become also very popular with Australian CustOMERs.
